Fans react to cost of Disney’s WEB SLINGERS power strip

On May 19, the Disney Parks Blog shared more details on merchandise that would be available to guests at the Avengers campus when the new land opens on June 4 at Disney California Adventure Park. One of these products, the WEB tech Power Band, will allow guests to have a more interactive and immersive experience while piloting WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure.

WEB technology power bands will be inspired by Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man, Ghost Spider, Iron Man and Rescue. Groups will give guests powers such as shooting electrodynamic webs with Spider-Man and Ghost Spider or shooting repulsor explosions with Iron Man and Rescue Power Bands. The Iron Man and Rescue Power Bands can also be used by guests at their homes.

It has been announced that the base model WEB shooters will cost $ 35, and the upgrade to the Spider-Man, Ghost Spider, Iron Man and Rescue models will cost an additional $ 30. Fans were quick to react to the new Power Bands and their added cost.

Twitter user Dan Schmidt (@pqswim) didn’t like the idea of having to pay for a better experience.

So if you BUY something, you can get a benefit in the ride. Dumb why not include it for everyone?

As Twitter user Frederick Chambers (@HelmsmanFreddy) reminded guests of similar items available at other theme parks – including interactive wands at Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Power Up Bands at Super Nintendo World – VelociClint (@ iamcg83) reminded him that these interactive elements can be used in different countries.

It looks like the Power Bands will only work on the WEB SLINGER route – not on other Avengers Campus sites – at this point.

Okay… But listen to me… Wands and power-up bands enhance your experience in ALL EARTH. These add-ons are for one ride… I think that’s the argument a lot of people make? I’m just making suggestions here …

While the WEB Power Bands will only work on the WEB SLINGER ride in Avengers Campus, Disney says the Iron Man and Rescue Power Bands can also light up and blow air whenever you want to play with them.

Other fans didn’t like the fact that you had to pay up to $ 65 for the additional Disneyland Resort experience.

So you can buy additional goods to unlock special abilities on the way? Interesting seizure of money.

Other social media users worried about what paying for extras during a ride experience would mean for future theme park rides. Addison (@DAdRobs) said the following on Twitter:

Don’t like the box that opens.

Even if you decide not to purchase the additional WEB Power Band, the technology Disney is using for their new rides should guarantee you a good time anyway! Be sure to check out WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure when it opens at the Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park when it opens on June 4.
