FRITZ!OS 7.39-96594 Lab for FRITZ!Box 6591 available

The manufacturer of the FRITZ!Box AVM has unveiled a new lab firmware for FRITZ!OS 7.39-96594 for the FRITZ!Box 6591 cable. The update includes a variety of bug fixes, improvements and changes in the Internet, WLAN, LAN, USB, Repeater and Program domains, which can be found below. A current WireGuard VPN client can now be extended to incorporate new connections. It also supports Android 12 VPN consumer dial-in using IPSec IKEv2 and improves WireGuard configuration. The FRITZ!OS 7.39-96594 update for FRITZ!Box 6591 Cable can now be downloaded from AVM. As a consumer of the lab version, you can download the update using the FRITZ!Box consumer interface. Open the FRITZ!Box › Enter fritz.box in the browser and log in › Click on Wizards › Update › Start the update by clicking on Search for a new FRITZ!OS and follow the instructions to get the update.   • Fixed: IPv6 was active for more mature cellular products and internet connection was not possible.
  • Improvement: A current WireGuard VPN client can be extended with new connections.
  • Improvement: Android 12 VPN inbound call supports IPSec IKEv2.

  • Fixed: The “WLAN / Wi-fi Community” website page was not fully visible when using the “Safari” internet browser on MacOS/iOS/ipadOS.

  • Together: Exposure of the frequency spectrum was missing for devices connected to the power grid that ended up connected to the FRITZ!Box using the power line.
  • Transformation: Revision of the “Details” web pages for FRITZ!Powerline devices.

Program ->

  • Improvement: Improved WireGuard configuration.

USB->

  • Fixed: Folder selection for media server was not possible because the “Ok” button remained greyed out.

repeaters ->

  • Set: Under specific circumstances, the WLAN channel in the 2.4 GHz band was changed far too frequently.
  • Mounted: Wi-Fi disable was not propagated to the mesh extender if mesh configuration inheritance was disabled.

Notes on the Lab Update for the FRITZ!Box

This FRITZ! The lab model is in beta. It was tested in normal environments just before launch, but it may also trigger malfunctions. AVM assumes no responsibility for any damages resulting from the use of this variation. You can upgrade the FRITZ!Box to the formal FRITZ!OS using the restore.exe file provided in this lab package.
