HYDERABAD: City-based heavy metal band Godless recently released their single and are gearing up for an international album launch in November.
On Monday, the five-member group, who had already toured Europe in 2019, released their single âNetherworldâ. It is about a person trapped in a world between worlds, losing their sanity and making peace with the fact that they may never be able to free themselves from it.
Netherworld marked the announcement of Godless’s debut long-play (LP) album, States of Chaos. âEach song on the album has its own psychological meaning which is metaphorical with ordinary human life,â explains Abbas Razvi, the bassist. The nine-song album States of Chaos is slated for worldwide release on November 19. Soon after, they plan to tour the country to promote their music.
Previously, Godless had released two other albums – Centuries of Decadence (2016) and Swarm (2018). In 2018, he made his international debut at the Wacken Open Air, a prestigious metal festival. One of the best metal bands in the country, it includes Kaushal LS (singer), Ravi Nidamarthy (guitarist), Moiz Mustafa (guitarist), Abbas Razvi (bassist) and Aniketh Yadav (drummer).
âWe all grew up listening to heavy metal and that’s how we connected. Music comes naturally to us when composing, âexplains Abbas. The band set out to develop their own style of music, for which they mixed thrash with death metal to create a sound that defines them. They also had a European tour in 2019, when they performed 19 shows in eight different countries.
In the same year, they also toured India and Nepal. They want to take their music to different parts of the world. âSomeone who listens to our music should be able to recognize it as ‘without God’. We want to raise the bar with every ride to make sure we’re doing our best, âsays Abbas.
