Macy Gray Claims NBC’s ‘Today’ Didn’t Allow Her Band To Wear Their ‘Free Brittney Griner’ Shirts

Macy Gray is making headlines again, but this time it’s not for her comments about how she views transgender women, but rather for claims that her group wasn’t allowed to wear their “Free Brittney Griner” T-shirts at a live concert on NBC’s Today show.

Billy WesGray’s keyboardist was seen wearing the shirt earlier today as the band prepared to perform on the TV show, but the supportive message was not seen during the act.

Asked about it by TMZ, Wes confirmed that he was told he couldn’t wear it.

“They made me return it”

What did Gray have to say?

Gray later addressed the situation during her own interview with TMZ, where she said the drama over the t-shirts left her disappointed.

“We wanted to wear them on the show and they said no, because I guess something happened,” Gray mentioned.

“I don’t think it’s too political. It’s a human being who is in a really horrible situation and there are people who have the power to do something. That’s what they should do,” insisted.

There has been no comment from representatives of the Today show until this time.

What’s up with Brittney Griner?

Britney Griner just pleaded guilty to drug possession charges last Thursday in a Russian court after four months in detention when she was caught with vaping canisters of cannabis oil in her luggage at Moscow airport.

It is believed that she did this so that she could enter the negotiations and possibly become involved in a trade between the two countries, in which the United States would give in Victor Boutalso known as ‘The Merchant of Death’.
