New details on Splatoon 3 from Squid Research Lab
SRL here! New Splatoon 3 details have just been announced by video transmission. Along with some exciting Turf War footage, we also got a first look at the single player story mode. Check it out!
The theme of the Splatoon 3 the story mode appears to be “Return of the Mammals”. What ?! As far as we know, mammals have vanished from the face of the planet (minus a few cool cats, of course). What does this mean for these Inklings?
This youngster from Splatsville and loyal Smallfry boyfriend are junk hunters who hunt for unwanted gems by day and splash them in Turf Wars from the side. It looks like this Inkling has met the New Squidbeak Splatoon and is now their New Agent 3 in the continued fight against the evil Octarians!
This is the hero suit worn by the new Agent 3. It is flexible enough to accommodate gentle movements, but it can withstand the harsh conditions of the Splatlands. The boyfriend even enters the pack! We noticed two styles in the video. Maybe they are each suited to different situations?
He’s a soldier from the Wicked Octarian Army who plans an invasion of the squid world. Having said that, this one is not like the ones we have seen before … it does seem to grow hairy hairs! Why would a sea creature grow stuff like this? We must go further !
This intriguing structure appeared at the end of the video. It’s quite different from what we’ve seen from the Splatlands so far. All we know is that it’s located somewhere in “Alterna” where this story mode takes place. Its purpose remains unknown, for the moment …
This mysterious substance found at Alterna is called Fuzzy Ink. It vibrates like a life form, but it doesn’t actually appear to be a living creature. He seems to be partially covered in brown fur, which leads us to suspect some sort of connection with this hairy octarian …
We have learned a terrible truth. If an Inkling comes into contact with Fuzzy Ooze, some sort of brown fur-like substance grows all over their body and they lose sense of themselves. In this state, they are unable to do much but drive desperately …
In less terrifying news, we learned that Smallfry is unaffected by Fuzzy Ooze. In fact, they can eat it and clean it! Looks like these little buddies just might be the key to solving the Alterna mysteries.
Apparently, Smallfry will bite the Octarians to attack them, activate useful gear, and aid the Inklings in various other ways. They may be small, but they look more and more like a brave and reliable sidekick!
This is the New Squidbeak Splatoon who works undercover to defeat the evil Octarian Army. To the left is Agent 1, to the right is Agent 2, and in the middle is their Captain. Their true identities are kept under wraps and they will do everything in their power to support the new Agent 3.
Psst … Right between us, when Agents 1 and 2 aren’t saving the world from squid, it’s Callie and Marie from the ever-popular musical group, the Squid Sisters! Take a look at one of their new live concerts here: https://youtu.be/wxkKUbNnXKE
This elderly Inkling is called Craig Seiche. He was once captain of the Squidbeak Splatoon and is a true hero of his time. He recently retired from active service and passed his captain’s cap on to a brave new leader. Not to be outdone, he still patrols the squid world. Which guy!
We have discovered a new stage known as Eeltail Alley! An old neighborhood in downtown Splatsville, it has become a popular hangout for the city’s youth. With a walkway spanning the entire area, this is surely a vibrant place for Turf War battles!
This step below is the Alfonsino Museum of the Inkopolis region. It seems that a sophisticated transport network allows to reach Turf Wars there. It is a large museum with many exhibits, including those currently featuring indigenous artefacts and modern art.
Next, we have Scorch Gorge, a step seen in the previous video. We hear the strange rocks that rise like chimneys were once underwater hydrothermal vents that are now appearing on earth due to changes on the planet’s surface. This area is also designated as a national park and very popular.
Now let’s dive into the new special weapons seen in the video. This is the crab tank! When piloting this multi-legged vehicle, you can attack with a powerful rapid-fire cannon and wide-area cannon. You can also turn into a ball to move faster than the crab walk.
This is the great bubbler. It is a modified version of a special weapon popular in Inkopolis. By making it fixed, the size has been significantly increased! It seems the Inklings of Splatlands think bigger the better. Well, that certainly looks useful in protecting his allies!
This special weapon transforms an Inkling into a dark warrior called Zipcaster. With tentacles that stretch and stick to the walls, you can zoom in and cause insane mayhem! To conceal your identity, when the ink runs out, you will be sent back to where you first transformed yourself.
This weapon was seen in the video, and we’ve learned some new details! It’s called the Trizooka and looks like a modified version of a special weapon once popular in Inkopolis. It has a powerful shot that fires three shots at once and can be fired a total of three times with each use!
This is the Killer Wail 5.1. It also appears to be a modified version of a special weapon from Inkopolis. The six floating megaphones move autonomously and attack with lasers that chase enemies. For such a dusty place, it looks like the Splatlands are teeming with brilliant tech!
C-Side is a grungy, rebellious trio who represent strong for the Splatlands. Growing up without formal musical training didn’t make them miss a beat, and they surfaced solely through their ambition and attitude.
We discovered a demo version of C-Side’s hit track, Clickbait! This song tears the mind of Splatsville apart. With an electrifying rhythm and a supercharged guitar, this jam sounds like a band at the top of their game!
It’s brand new Splatoon 3 information we have right now. But don’t despair! Our research never stops. We will get back to you as soon as we have more to share. SRL out!
