Today, Noga Erez presents his own epic acoustic cover of the band Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow, “Industry Baby”.
Flanked by a ten-piece ensemble with a horn section, she delivers a sleek, soaring take on the chart-topping banger. Trumpets underline the melody with a jazzy edge as it leans into the groove with wit, soul and style. Noga reinvents, recharges and re-energizes “Industry Baby” with her fiery performance.
Regarding the cover, she said, “When I first heard ‘Industry Baby’, like so many others, I was immediately hooked. Ori Rousso, my partner, and I worked for some time on various projects incorporating brass and woodwind instruments.. We wanted to see this come to life with a full brass orchestra and band, similar to our KIDS (Against The Machine) project, so we went for it. It was incredibly fun and empowering, singer mad, and I had the best time working on this cover.”
It picks up where it left off last year in tastemaker-approved KIDS (Against the Machine). On the latter, it renewed its second full offering of 2021, KIDS, with only organic instrumentation and no machine accompaniment.
In a recent cover story, FLOOD Magazine said, “His experimental approach and unwavering honesty are very apparent on KIDS 2021, but the gloom is now illuminated by a faint glimmer of hope. That light is getting brighter on the just-released his acoustic album, KIDS (Against the Machine),” and V Magazine attested, “It makes every song damn catchy. Like catchy in that even skimming them will have your brain filling up for the rest of the day.” Meanwhile, AV Club noted, “Erez and his collaborators (primarily his partner Ori Rousso) are reshaping KIDS into a retro-soul parade of funky beats and even funkier style.” Perhaps The Line Of Best Fit best summed it up as “everything people want from Noga Erez”.
KIDS comes with outspoken pop anthems worthy of the charts for the 21st century. It showcases Noga’s style, morphing into an explosive, crisp sound she creates with Ori Rousso. His earworms and crisp productions are locked around lyrics that deal with the personal and the political; mortality and loss; war and peace, insecurity and ambition.
Last year, Noga sold out shows across North America in support of KIDS and KIDS (Against The Machine). Plus, she’s honored bills from Lollapalooza, Firefly, ACL, Outside Lands, and more. She has also performed on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! and Kelly Clarkson live.
Noga Erez burst onto the scene with her debut album “Off The Radar” in 2017, which received worldwide acclaim. While the music she creates in collaboration with her partner and co-writer, composer and producer Ori Rousso, harnesses many of the most physical and dynamic elements of electronic and pop music, she also embraces a cerebral sensibility that has made from her one of her houses. the city’s most exciting and idiosyncratic artists.
The gritty textures and powerful atmospheres forged with its ingenious synths and rhythms bravely straddle genres. Her 2018 standalone singles “Bad Habits” and “Cash Out (feat. SAMMUS)” and her 2019 collaboration with ECHO, “Chin Chin” saw her continue to forge an uncompromising and unpredictable alt-pop path. , gritty and in search of the truth.
