“Slipknot” continues to expand “Knotfest” around the world; A heavy metal band next to appear at THIS location

“Slipknot” has gone on tour during their career, and they host an annual festival called “Knotfest,” which features a handful of metal bands to the delight of fans. More recently, the group announced that it would be expanding its locations; which country are they heading to next?

According to Metal Insider, the heavy metal band is heading to Germany. “Knotfest 2022” will take place at the Rudolf Weber Arena in Oberhausen on July 30, 2022.

Apart from them, other musical groups will also perform, such as “Ghostemane” and “In Flames”. Other attendees of the event have yet to be announced. (see poster below)

Tickets will be available to the public on December 13 through their website knotfestgermany.com.

In their announcement, the group mentioned that the event would take place inside and outside (open air) of the arena.

What to expect at “Knotfest”?

In previous “Knotfest” events, the group aimed to present a “dark carnival” theme, which includes huge carnival tents, rides, burlesque performers, stilt walkers, graffiti walls and many more.

Shawn “Clown” Crahan has spoken to Rolling Stone before, saying the event is “all about fun and bringing something to the world of rock & roll”.

As well as giving fans the heavy metal music they came for, the band assures fans that “Knotfest” will leave their senses “overloaded”.

“I’m talking about the smells, the sight, the hearing, your body, it’s all overloaded with stimulation, because that’s what Slipknot does,” Crahan added.

Prior to their debut in 2012, the band had planned to host a festival 15 years ago because they believed the time had already come.

One of the reasons they created the event is to pay tribute and honor their late bassist Paul Gray, who was found dead in a hotel room in Iowa.

In the interview, which took place almost ten years ago, Crahan said that “Knotfest” will be a continuing tradition, and it looks like they are keeping their promise as they have continued to host the event in all regions. regions of the world.

Since then, the legendary group has embarked on a journey to different places like the United States, Japan and Latin America.

Previous artists include Marilyn Manson, Alesana, “Disturbed”, “Motionless in White”, “Black Label Society”, “Megadeth” and dozens of other rock artists.
