Excerpt from a press release:

“Never stray from the path” – this is a warning that has been rooted in the human psyche through the ages. Folklore and fairy tales from all cultures speak of the dangers that await those who succumb to curiosity, temptation or bravado, those who disregard the lessons of their ancestors. There are wolves out there between the trees, wolves that crave the influx of warm blood released.

And deeper in the shadows, in places where even wolves are afraid to tread, there are monsters – demons waiting to bring you down and tear you apart. If you must venture through the forest, under the canopy of secrets, do not listen to whispers and promises, do not pursue illusions of beauty – stay on the path or your end is assured.

‘The Woods Will End You’ is the second full-length album from Narrowsburg, New York’s Brotality, following last year’s acclaimed debut ‘Worldwide Desolation’. This new entry in the chronicle of their remarkable rise through the metal underground ranks has been crafted with consummate skill and captivating imagination, drawing on the influence of revered heavy metal legends, groundbreaking contemporary pioneers and the unique vision of the power trio.

These intricate compositions travel through the backwoods of thrash metal, reaching into the shimmering realms of progressive metal, drawing the essence of both together and weaving them into a stunning new tapestry of many colors. Travel with them into forbidden territories and discover the magic and terror under the trees. Get ready for the musical revelations of “The Woods Will End You”.

These 11 songs capture the multi-layered fabric of the wild woods – the beauty, the danger, the mystery, the dark and the light. Crisp, incisive riffs and muscular, powerful rhythms merge with sublime melodies and uplifting solos that will open hearts. Voices, surly and intimidating, dramatic and richly melodious, tell their stories over intriguing beats and captivating music full of character. For the willing listener, ‘The Woods Will End You’ will reveal something truly remarkable, and in songs like ‘The Moon Below’ and ‘Sunseeker’ there is real treasure to be found – as long as you don’t stray never out of the way.

Formed by teenage brothers Bryce and Reece Maopolski in 2016, Brotality has evolved at a breakneck pace. In just a few years, they have become accomplished artists, drawing equal parts from Megadeth, Mastodon and their own fertile musical minds. From the unbridled energy and enthusiasm of their debut EP, 2018’s “Hypernova”, the young band has blossomed into a formidable proposition that combines the hard-hitting riff attack of thrash with the adventurous and expressive dexterity of metal. progressive.

More tellingly, they have now mastered the art of songwriting, crafting dynamic tracks that challenge and entice, pulling listeners into the embrace of their hooks, melodies and uplifting power. From harsh, imposing heaviness to passages of uplifting beauty, Brotality has woven it all into the fabric of the tale that is “The Woods Will End You.”

Now that drummer John Haring is firmly entrenched in the ranks, the band is better equipped than ever to continue its mission of spreading positivity through the power of heavy metal. Carrying the torch of metal and igniting hope through catchy riffs, soulful lyrics and commanding performances, they’ve already opened for Deep Purple and Judas Priest, earning numerous awards and radio recognition along the way. With the release of their second album via Rottweiler Records on Friday June 3, their reputation should spread more and more quickly around the world. Driven to succeed, Brotality believes there is nothing they cannot achieve.

After many successful shows in northeast Pennsylvania, including an album release party at Finnegan’s Irish Rock Club in Scranton in 2021, the band returns to Electric City to celebrate “The Woods Will End You” with a exit show at V-Spot (906 Providence Rd., Scranton) on Saturday, June 4.
