Travis Barker Defends Kourtney Kardashian Wearing Death Metal Band Shirt

Travis Barker defended his fiancée Kourtney Kardashian after being criticized for wearing a heavy metal t-shirt.

Last September, the Blink-182 drummer was snapped with his socialite partner, who was sporting a Cannibal Corpse top (it’s a heavy metal band, in case, like Kourtney, you didn’t know).

Of course, many people aren’t fans of people wearing stage clothes they know nothing about – people like the band’s former lead singer, Chris Barnes.

Sharing the snap on Twitter, he called it “posing” and shared a thumbs down emoji.

However, Barker came to his wife-to-be’s defence, describing Barnes’ take as “the most pathetic shit ever” – although he admitted Kourtney doesn’t know the music of Cannibal Corpse.

In an interview with Revolver, the 46-year-old said: “Obviously my fiancee doesn’t listen to Cannibal Corpse, but I do. I grew up loving them.

“For [someone] mention this in a negative light – fucking lame, you know? She wears it because she is cold. She doesn’t claim to know all the songs. But I do! I bought every album and learned to play every album.

“I grew up as a punk-rock kid, [but] all with punk rock – “I’m more punk than you” – just f**k all that. Be glad people like the music. The music is beautiful! It changes people’s lives. It creates the best memories. Celebrate it, you know?”

Kourtney’s stylist earlier told Vogue that she borrowed the shirt from Barker, describing her wardrobe as “an archive itself.”

Barker’s defense poses an interesting question: If you found yourself trapped outside in the freezing cold, with a Scouting For Girls sweater as the only item of clothing in sight, would you wear it?

Either way, despite Barnes’ comments, Barker is still a Cannibal Corpse lover, which admittedly rings a little false.

He said: “But, yeah…I have a bunch of Cannibal Corpse t-shirts.

“I still love them. I have a bunch of King Diamond t-shirts and rare Slayer shirts because I love those bands. I grew up with them.

“Even though I’m, you know, everything the world wants to see me as – ‘Oh, he’s the drummer from Blink-182’ – actually, this guy was playing in a garage with a bunch of speed kids. -metal listening to DRI and SOD I enjoyed every fucking minute.”
